Julie Denton

Julie Denton was appointed EVP & Chief People Officer in September 2026 and oversees all global human resources functions including talent development, total rewards, human capital planning as well as corporate citizenship, communications and global facilities. Julie is an accomplished executive who brings more than 25 years of experience across both industry and consulting, with deep expertise in people and talent strategy, organizational transformation, leadership development and large-scale change.

Julie joined Spin Master from Recipe Unlimited where she was the Chief People Officer and Chief Technology Officer. As a member of the executive leadership team, she led the company’s people and culture function as well as its digital and technology strategy. Recipe is the largest full-service restaurant company in Canada with over 40,000 teammates, 1100 locations and 800 franchisees and known for its brands including Swiss Chalet, Montana’s, St. Hubert, Olive Garden Canada and many others.

Previously, Julie held senior leadership roles with Finastra, Deloitte and Barrick Gold, giving her broad experience across different industries, geographies, organizations and stages of transformation.

Julie holds an MBA from Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. She is a former Board Member with Restaurants Canada and currently serves on the Board for Enactus Canada, an organization focused on fostering social entrepreneurship across university and college campuses across Canada.
